Default Scottish Troops ID - Shabkadar

I believe the inscription on the back of this photo was written by a man serving with the 5th Northumberland Fusiliers (please see my recent threads re. the NF).

However, this particular photo of General Willcocks' residence at Shabkadar, depicts what appears to be Scottish troops. Can anyone ID the regiment, please?

With thanks,

JT

Seems the only thing to go on are the hose tops, which were worn by all Highland regiments except the Black Watch, who wore red on black hose?
Perhaps a close up of the garter might help? Different styles of tying the garters?

Rgds, Thomas.
