I have several badges with the owners service number scratched on the slider. Is it possible to establish a name using just a service number, I subscribe to the Ancestry site but so far all my searches have drawn a blank.

Hi , can you post the service numbers and we can have a check, I’ve a few badges like this and luckily after a bit of searching I’ve found the service men’s details, what era badges and Regiments are the badges this will help narrow them down .

A nice touch on to-day of all day's to have Joe's cap badge identified as his after all these years. Continue to rest in peace lad, my fellow Liverpudlian.

Dave.

Hi, your man :
Percy E Osmond Sapper 4123 Guards Machine Gun Regiment

You can get his MIC at the moment for free at the National Archives, google ' National Archives Medal Index Cards' and it should take you straight to the search screen.

Regards Gary

I searched for the name in the forum search box, that brought up the thread.

At the top in the address bar is the full link to the thread (which looks like this: https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...t=Percy+Osmond)

It's then just a copy and paste of that entire link.

To make it look better, I used the linking feature which exists by clicking on the earth and chain link icon which appears in the menu above the main box for typing in. (This isn't necessary, but just makes it smoother to the reader in my opinion).

Hope that helps?
