Hi
Interesting patch ,I am not dismissing it immediately as junk it is definitely old , so what is it ...film prop, or wartime produced ?

This looks like a badge that was on sale recently and the following note was attached - "RAF Eagle Squadron Military Cloth Badge, printed, possibly used as film/entertainment prop in the film '633 Squadron'?
I was going to bid on this but I was distracted (fell asleep )
Jerry.

Surely if the badge is printed that would suggest to me a large batch ? if this was a film wouldn't embroidery be easier ?

willing to be shot down here .....

I don't think that it is printed in the style that calico and other printers used, it doesn't even look to be printed on canvas, rather it appears to be printed onto woolen type material in the style of block printing that used to be achieved by using a potato !

I have been informed these type of printed patches were used in Hollywood during the 30/40s .
For the screen extras.
Interesting ...
Cheers Steve
