As of today the official abbreviation for The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers is no longer "RRF", it's "Fusiliers" - I never realised the forum wielded such influence.

I must have been the culprit who posted BCOF - sorry if offence was taken at the lapse in using the full description of the patch -

Hi Guys

I agree with Nozzer 100%, so far there's about 20 posts and 764 views of this thread, however it seems to have had no effect what so ever on the remainder of the forums membership. There are some abbreviations that I have absolutely no idea what is trying to be communicated.

I believe that unless the abbreviations are in general use such as ranks, the full name of the unit or what ever should be spelled out in full, then put the abbreviation in brackets and then use the abbreviation if you have to.

I still don't know what a PJI is !

Regards

Phil.

Hi Phil, I haven't seen Cavalryman listed in the running anywhere, I do always look out for that name. I had a great result in October last year at Ascot though when a good close friend "heard some whispers" he is a professional gambler to be fair. regards John

Quite.....

I was under the impression that PJ's are some form of nightwear?

Whilst we are on the subject, could someone show me what badge was worn by a JS(O)2 in the mid to late 80's please?

Is that in the 1780s, 1880s or 1980s?

Marc

Let's say 1980's. However, if you can find one from the other two dates you suggest, then do show us......
