As of today the official abbreviation for The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers is no longer "RRF", it's "Fusiliers" - I never realised the forum wielded such influence.

I agree with Nozzer 100%, so far there's about 20 posts and 764 views of this thread, however it seems to have had no effect what so ever on the remainder of the forums membership. There are some abbreviations that I have absolutely no idea what is trying to be communicated.

I believe that unless the abbreviations are in general use such as ranks, the full name of the unit or what ever should be spelled out in full, then put the abbreviation in brackets and then use the abbreviation if you have to.

I still don't know what a PJI is !
