Photo in need of identifying.
I have this photo of two military soldiers in uniform and two men in suits behind that I'm struggling to place.
I have been told that the man at the back right was my Nan's father, who once served in the Royal Marine Light Infantry, but I have no proof to this claim. I have a second photo of only him, which shows the badge on his right in a bit more detail, though I'm struggling to identify it. Any information would be very useful. |

For the seated cavalryman. I think you can go for 10th Hussars or 3rd Dragoon Guards and disregard 12th Lancers: as the latter's collar badges had changed to lances from the Victorian Prince of Wales ' feathers some 10 years before WW1 started.

Jay - If you know his full name try googling The National Archives - Discovery, in the search bar type in his full name followed by the letters ADM, you may well get a hit regarding his Certificate of Service, usually costs £3.50 to down load.
(Note ... for the benefit of the readership, I believe the letters ADM are short for Admiralty, not 'Initials' you understand ... just saying like !!) |

A number of Yeomanry regiments wore the PofW feathers very prominently as a collar badge, in particular the Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry. Is there any family connection with that County?
