Default ACC relatively scarce QC bimetal cap badge

Got this today after some time waiting to find one, like waiting for a bus two came at once but the other had been blackened so I plumped for this one.

Nice set Paul, what are your thoughts on the lugged all GM badge attached , I thought collar badges were a smaller size, so always assumed it was a cap badge!
Cheers Tony.

Hi Tony,
I do not know of anyone (vets) being issued a lugged cap badge except the apprentice Pipe Major and Pipers from the Apprentice College for wear in the glengarry(the pipe band was post 70's) but that does mean it did not happen until I know for sure.
It makes me laugh when a WW1 ACC badge comes up for sale. The collar badges are the smaller type and have never been cap badge size,
Hope that helps?
Paul

Hiya guys,

I have an ACC WM one with KC, I'll see if I have an image in my computer.
Why I got it was because I never saw one in WM, so thought to myself, ....... strange ?? I don't think it had a slider though, was a pin type fitting.

I'll see if I can find the images of it Drivers !!! you know what we're like Put it down, ..... loose it

Especially if you never signed for it, ....

Hi Guys
Just put up an album of my ACC stuff http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...bum.php?u=1487 as you can see still missing some obvious items like Bze OSD cap badge with blades etc. Looking forward to seeing if any one can come to a conclusion about the various 1st patt cap badges and if there there were ever any collar badges worn at this time, bearing in mind OR's would have been wearing Battledress and unlikely to have had collar dogs.
But the joy is I learn with each new post!
Regards
Sean
