Can anyone tell me when the attached Parachute Regiment metal shoulder titles were worn, and by whom, and on what order(s) of dress?

I have a pair of these myself,never seen any photos of them being worn, so I too am intrigued to know.

Introduced for wear on Service Dress in August 1950. Whether it was worn or not I do not know, all the ones I have come across have been brand new.

Introduced at the same time was the Battle Dress designation PARACHUTE REGIMENT in Light Blue on Maroon.

I believe perfectly original, but, they tend to be absolutely mint and unworn, I don't think that I have ever seen evidence that they were worn, but, that certainly does not mean they never actually were.

Might they have been intended for tropical parade uniform?

Thanks for all the contributions. I’m thinking that, whatever uniform they were intended for, the lugs are too wide apart to fit on an eppaultte comfortably, which might account for their lack of wear?

I have often considered buying a pair as they do come up for sale quite often, always looking mint unworn/NOS but never did.

I do however have some of the cloth versions mentioned by Marc above, nicely worn uniform removed examples.
