Default Royal Dock Yard Bn

No matter what, I believe this unit stands in a class of its own - a 'hybrid' between Army and Navy.
The attached item shows an enterprising use for an RDB Officer's headdress accoutrements, ergo a key holder!
The gilt shako plate has one of the chinchain lion's heads placed centrally in lieu of the silver fouled anchor, complete with its retainig hook (the key holder) while below is the other lion's head.
Purchased at a house auction where it hung on a lobby wall.
Buttons to this Corps are still eluding me, but I have a lot of faith in my detector!
