Unfortunately a bad one , a few of the telltale signs showing, have a check on some of the threads and pictures of the Paddington Rifles for the signs of a good one ( I’m still after my first good one even after all these years collecting

John,
I too have looked for years with no luck. Have a placeholder 10th Paddington in my collection.

The points I look for are really crisp strikes with good solid details front and back. The originals I have seen in pictures are really clean looking, detail wise.

A clear gap in the foliage outside the center ring at 6 oclock is a good sign.
Your pictured badge has no gap.

The two d’s in paddington are kinda smushed together in a lot of these non original badges like the one you shared above in your post.

HTH

Todd

Thanks for the replies folks .Gutted, thought this one was ok, strong slider, crimp mark, good reverse striking ( I thought), but heh ho, another clever fake.
Thanks
John

Cheer you up a bit, the early Queen’s collar looks good.

Is that Lonsdale a fake or a polished off OSD collar badge? Looks like it might be the later to my eye.

It is a genuine badge in the next Bosley’s sale.
