Major Palmer, 60th Rifles, Indian Mutiny Medal
I have no connection with this seller, just an interest in the 60th Rifles, after they became the KRRC.
What a sad state for a brave officers medal to have ended up in. I wonder what story it could tell? Looks like he was even my great grandad's CO in the late 1860s. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Amazing that people are bidding so much despite the fact there is only one photograph in the description.

Nope, not really, they arn't counted as currency. However in the 1970s IIRC, loads of medals were broken and melted down for their silver value, which is why I have some groups that are: "star" - no BWM - Victory medal.

The medal ended at £281, with 20 bids!
