Duke of Cornwalls Light Infantry on 11th of June 1917 and it says they are in a German trench

The well-named "pork pie" hat. Had one for years with an uncommon band (black with red piping) on it. I think it would have been machine gunners or air mechanics. Can anyone verify? Yes, I could google this......

Ended up trading it against the promise that it would DEFINITELY be returned to me should the "new" owner ever sell it. Saw it on a dealer's table about six months later...
