Victorian Officers belt
Hi All,
Have a couple of questions on this Victorian Officers belt. It comes with a short sling which I believe is for either a sword,or, as this is a scottish belt(thistle design in gold lace and has seaforth clasp) for a dirk ? What is the other longer strap for that is to the rear of the belt ? last part - is it worth trying to clean the gold lace as it is quite grubby in parts and,if yes, just a brush with warm soapy water ? Cheers in advance, Mark |

Mark,
Its a sword belt. They have a short strap for the top loop of the scabbard and a long strap for the middle loop on the scabbard. Dont try and clean it its not worth it, it looks fine and any attempt never looks right after. regards
