Default Clover collar badges = London Irish?

With these clover collar badges I am thinking maybe London Irish. Can anyone confirm what uniform this is? Thanks

I have no great knowledge of medal ribbons however, the ones worn in this photo do not look British to me. Thus, a possability is an officer of The South African Irish Regiment.

They too wore shamrock collar badges.

Can you show the complete picture with cap badge ? Buttons look to be LIR, the SAIR mention blackened shamrock collar badges in dress regulations, but don't think they were ever worn blackened.

The medal ribbons are 1939/45 Star; Africa Star with 1st Army numeral; Italy Star.

There are a couple of pictures of him but in neither is he wearing a hat. I think I can make out a harp on his buttons. His name is wrote on back Pat Gilmore.
