Default Bomb Disposal badge Korea ?

Hi this badge came with a medal group to 32 RE and I assumed it was a repro however I have recently seen some Korean war items amongst which was a cloth badge with the same backing as this is this an original Korean war badge or a repro. Thanks Roger

Can't see any stitching marks and it looks absolutely pristine to be from that era - unless it was a spare and kept out of the way. It may not be a repro as such, it may just be 'representative' of what he would have worn.
I wouldn't assume that just because it 'came' with a medal group, it (i.e. this particular one) was worn at that time. I don't have one single cloth badge that has signs of being worn (and yes, I know that 'wear' can be faked with water/tea/coffee etc), that doesn't also have that 'tatty' (is that term still politically correct in the uk?) look. The one I have looks like its great grandfather and is much duller all over - a bit like what happens when you get older................
Good luck. I have noticed a few albums with very nice selections of the different types that may help you.

I would describe the badge as mint which was why I thought it a copy when it came their was an earlier bomb disposal badge as well but not the same, however seeing a tunic removed Korean war badge with the same backing I wondered if this could be a correct mint badge as the Korean war is not my era of interest I intend to sell the Korean war patches I have and wanted to check this first. It measures 2" BY 1 AND 9/16th's.Regards Roger

Roger,
I don't have mine with me but there was one forum member with a very good collection of this type of badge. Might be worth doing a search and checking his album. I cannot recall what the back of mine looks like except that it has been 'reduced' a lot around the edges.

I have a similar badge which I brought in the eighties for the "All the signs of a specialist 2 poster so I would say it is a modern issue of the Queen Mary award.
