That is a lovely old board, a most interesting period too with all the Aden business going on as well as Borneo and the Peninsular and Belfast imminent.

I think that I much prefer the second pair, St Andrew appears rather gaunt on the former!

Silver plate and gilt glengarry badge lesser quality than previous examples.
Possibly a Sgts rather than an officers, gilt has migrated onto the star. |

Gents, some beautiful badges above.
Interestingly both of the above 1966 dated pattern cards hold a badge that is unseeded. Presumably there must have been an earlier card for the seeded example or has the card been resealed? Additionally, attached the comparison in sizes between the anodised OR's collars, early and later purse/sporran badges. Regards all Bess |

Officers silver and gilt glengarry badge. Hallmaked GB Birmingham 1997.
I know some collectors regard these GB stamped badges to be spurious others say including some dealers that it stands for Gaunt Birmingham. You will notice that the hallmark is upside down on the star. Good or bad it is still well made. |

Some dealers sell these as sporran badges!

Hi rmarsden. I think you will find they are zink but as you say, die cast by the closed process with associated ejector castings to the rear. Regards, Chris |

I bet those are quite collectable these days, it's nice to see as it originally came, but, annoying to think there are those few who actually try and sell them as something they are not.
