Default Bradford Battalion PWO West Yorkshire Regiment

Hi All,
Comments welcome on this small pendant. Was it worn by soldiers or was it a sweetheart version?
Thanks, John

That looks like a sweetheart item based on a badge the volunteers wore.

It may be a pocket watch fob.

I agree. They were often marketed and sold as alternatives to lapel pins.

Hello Tinto, The button-hole badges originally issued to those Bradford Pals who were awaiting a uniform were, I believe, made and stamped by Fattorini and had the typical button-hole fixing. Your badge, I suggest, may have been altered somewhat to be used as a fob or sweetheart lapel brooch.

The original Fattorini badges were 32mm high x 22mm wide and originally had a buttonhole fitting but some have had that removed and replaced with pin and hook .

Thanks all, for your comments. Pendant is same size as the buttonhole type, 32x22mm.
Cheers, John
