Default flat The Liverpool Regiment button - fashion item?

This button is similar to "Equipement Militaires" buttons which seem to be fashion items. They date from the 1970s.
This "The Liverpool Regiment" button is rare.
Both designs have a flat back without text. The 'shank' is curved downwards for easy attaching.
Can members confirm this is a fashion button as well?
