Default Just Wnat to Confirm my Thoughts on This

I love this shoulder strap and feel sure it is a QARANC strap due to the colors. I have put it in my display case with a QARANC A/A button, but am not sure that is correct? Also I suspect the four holes are probable for rank pips? I am not sure as they seem awfully close together? Lastly, what would it be worn on, some kind of ward dress I am thinking?

Any help or thoughts is appreciated,

Terry

Terry,
Looks a little small but possibly for an early version of the grey No2 Dress jacket. The shoulder boards for the Tippet are like these at bottom row left and right:
Note use of small rank stars.

I'm pretty sure it is QARANC, my feelings are that it is from a "warm weather" (lightweight cotton) "Ward Dress" as worn in the Middle East or Far East

Thank you all very much. Of course, a QAIMNS (R)! Yep, I can see it now, my bad!

Then I probably don't want to put a QARANC button with it. Does anyone know what button would have been worn with it?

Thank you!

Terry

Very nice David! Looks like a plain white plastic button - is that correct?

Difficult to tell it has a opalescent shine would say it is mother of Pearl and date wise this would be a better option than plastic

Great David, I'll have to see what I can turn up. I am sure if they lost a button in the field they might go with what ever was available. I am not knowledgeable about the British army, but in the US Army, the "Mother-in-Law had both thread, needles and spare buttons.

Thanks for the info!

Terry
