Gents, this came for pennies with a bunch of oddments. I initially dismissed it as a copy of the wartime badge - however before I cast it aside I wouldn't mind a second opinion.

I know the design is worn by Commando Gunners in 148 Bty ( but they are round) - so is this in fact an issue post war badge, perhaps RN? - or is it indeed just a standard fake?

Hi bess55,

I can not see the eagle head, so probably not a good sign. It is not a variant I know of, but as Mike B says they were hundred so waiting for others to reply.

The eagle head is there, but it is not a particular design I know. NEMO may know, as he has had several patterns. I am hoping to learn from others on this one ...
