Hi Bill, here`s the reverse. These were part of a very old collection, primarily CEF. There are several, with slight variations. I also wondered if maybe they were the base for battalion numbers to be mounted on? Thanks for your help.

What you have are shoulder epaulette maple leaves, as worn by other ranks of the Governor Generals` Foot Guards, as used from late 1800`s until the mid 1920`s.
