Parachute Regiment Badge / Cloth
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone might be able to provide any feedback on this particular Parachute Regiment Badge if possible, in particular with regard to the age of it. It appears to have been well used and I believe it might date from the 80s but could it be older / earlier? The rear seems to have a gluey / varnishy substance on it and there are indications that it has been sewn to a uniform at some point. Also, it is fairly worn as can be seen and there is still a thread of cotton that is attached to it. Finally, the white woven cotton of the parachute design on the front as well as the white woven cotton of the parachute and lines between the wings on the obverse fluoresces under UV light. However, the white linen around the edges on the back does not fluoresce. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Many thanks and best regards. |

I think your first assessment is correct with the wing dating from the 70's on.

Agree, 70's - 80's which is Falklands period, items of that conflict are booming, though at the moment not for this, but one day
