Maybe I should have said "in addition to the current Royal Marine Commando titles" as the RM ones have been around for at least a couple of years, but haven't yet seen any army, RAF or RN commando titles in that style yet!

Useful link to obtain titles though, so far haven't found any.

Cheers Tony

Default New Commando Titles

The 'USMC Commando' titles were supposedly worn by US Marines attached to/serving with the Royal Marines. They are apparently completely bogus (according to RM Senior NCOs).

A couple of sites selling them claim :

US Marine Corps / Commando (Royal Marines Qualified)
and .....

Made specifically for USMC personel, atttached to the UK Commando brigade
And crucially passed the British all arms commando course

Hi Team

USMC do not wear shoulder patches they were abolished in 1948.

Can and do they wear unauthorized patches , yes you will see them on plate carriers in theatre Afghan/Iraq typically velcro.

I have a few theatre made patches.

Also civilian wear.

Ironicaly the US Army has authorized the wear of several USMC patches as combat patches 1/2 USMC Div,II/III USMC Airwing/1st MEF.

The shoulder patches that you show were probably made in anticipation , which is an American tradition and is replete of manufatcurers asuming patches will be made.

Phill
