Glider trained infantry badge backing question
Ian's wonderful rifle green backed glider trained infantry badge reminded me I have one with a dark blue or possibly faded black backing.
Any idea which particular unit wore this? |

Black backed badges are associated with the post 1959 (amalgamation) Staffordshire Regiment. So could be from the South Staffords when in the WW2 glider infantry role?

Luc - Not seen that colour backing before - nice to see ...
Does not appear to be the same as ones in Oliver Locks book - unless discoloured, which appears unlikely for whole backing. John Mills has three variants in this Badges on Battledress (badges 2123, 2124,2125) the closest appears to be Bottle-green Royal Ulster Rifles ... but your example looks different again |
