Pipe Major - Scottish and North Irish Yeomanry (SNIY)
Hi Guys,
Here's a great photo of the Pipe Major of the Scottish and North Irish Yeomanry (SNIY) from the SNIY Facebook page. His Pipe Major appointment patch looks the same as the one worn by the RSDG Pipe Major. Also does anyone know what plaid brooch he is wearing and have a picture of it? Mick

Interesting.
He is wearing a complete Scots DG Pipe Major uniform, bar the arm badge. Chris |

Collar is different on the SNIY , no gold yellow piping.
And SNIY has an extra crown above the chevrons. Chris |

The extra crown will be his rank. Probaly a WO2 rather than Staff Sgt by.the size.

The double on the SNIY is very different from the SDG if one looks closely.
Can't see the collar, (no collar dogs visible) but it is likely the same as the rest of the doublet, which appears to be an OR pattern having no lace trim on the cuffs, skirts and shoulder wings etc. Perhaps they don't have the funds to do him up in a proper PM doublet. CB
