Possible Coatee Button 1835

Good afternoon Forumalites,

I have recently taken command of this button which I believe may be a Coatee button, or a Mufti Button worn on the blue frock coat of the 'King's Own Borderers' we were granted this title by King George III in 1805

The button is made by 'Jones' 'Cork Hill'. A Dublin maker I believe, the Regiment was stationed in Ireland 1803 until 1807
As you can see its a brass Gilded button bearing the Regiments initials KOB in cypher with the Crown above, with a Spray of Thistles left and Roses right in keeping with approved designs.

My question is has anyone seen this button before or pictures it is very rare to the Regiment.
Any suggestions and help will gratefully appreciated.

stylistically it looks more george IV or william IV rather than earlier. I think the Victoriam mufti is known with KOb under the crown so probably an earlier incarnation of that

Thank you for your response, I would agree William IV 1830 - 1837 would fit with the design coming in with the regiment cypher in initials below a Crown.

I am having it looked at by a friend at the NAM to see if they can locate a Pattern and date of it introduction, so stand by

On the make W. Jones of the same address was a button maker to the King around that time and later became W & E Jones, to that end as this button only has Jones I am wondering if that pre W and W&E or post that? If anyone can help.
