Original SAS beret.
Just thought I might share this beret with you all.
It was given to me by Ken Connor (longest serving member of the SAS) about 25 years ago. the beret is 100% original so may be a good reference point for all you collectors. |

Presumably the NATO stock number means that it is 1960s or 70s?

Given to me in I think 1982 so I think you could be right. The only reason I got it was he said he had just received a replacement.
I hope that these images are of some use to you collectors. I used to collect British head gear when I was younger hence why I have this beret. I now collect and sell German third reich items so I really appreciate how important good reference items are and how good provenance can really make a difference in the collectors market place. |

LOL now we are talking the special air service here where in these times of modern conflict a bit of facial hair may be thought of as some kind of advantage!!!! Actually A full facial beard is quite a common thing to the members of the service if available historical pictures are anything to go by!!
