Ordinary Seaman John Scott H.M.S. Lord Clive.
I bought this photograph because of the rarely seen cap tally that he is wearing. Unknown to me there was the name and address of the sailor's mother who took this picture into the photographers to get it copied.
Mrs Scott, 553 Donegall Road, Belfast. A quick search of the Royal Naval enlistment papers reveal that there were 19 sailors with the surname Scott who served during the Great War and who came from Belfast. Luckily only one of them served on the Monitor, H.M.S. Lord Clive. |

A really lovely image and always particularly pleasing to actually be able to put a name to a face.
