Default US Marines Hospital Corpsman Insignia

Hi,

Can anyone point me in the right direction for the insignia of a US Marines Hospital Corpsman insignia. I am trying to find this for a cousin of mine that served with them.

I have searched the net but all I can find are US Navy Hospital insignia.

Thanks,
Father1st.

Father1st,

There were, and are, no US Marine hospital corpsmen. They are all US Navy personnel assigned to Marine units.

Thanks,

That would explain why I can't find any insignia! I will get back to my cousin, it looks like there's been some misunderstanding.

Regards
Father 1st.

Father 1st

here is a link to an E bay auction. I am sure this seller had some for copemen.
I don't see him offering any now but you might check with him.

More confused than ever now!

Hi Father1st
Corpsman have always been part of the USNavy and seconded to the Marines. When seconded they would wear marine corps uniforms with black corpman insignia (either metal or black silk on marine corps green). See attached images.

Thank you for this. I will let my cousin see these images and see if they are what he's remembering.
