Default King's Crown Devonshire Regiment "SMITH & WRIGHT LD B'HAM" Marking.

I suspect that I've missed noting a common manufacturers mark over the years but I don't think I've seen this form of "Smith & Wright" before.
The badge appears ok, rather worn and battered, you can see daylight through two of the sweat holes.
Is this a well known version of the company marking please, and if so does it help date the badge within the King's Crown period?

Leigh,

I have a few badges bearing this MM, all of which are kosher:

I’m afraid I have no specific knowledge as to a time frame for this company’s MM.

It looks similar to one in my album of Devonshire variants, I have another but the slider is a replacement.

Thanks to both of you, the badge appealed because although it's a bit battered I knew I hadn't got a Devon's with that mark, if any badge at all with it.

The mark was in use during the great war, below is a Royal Welsh Fusiliers all brass economy.
I also have a Loyal North lancs which has to be pre 1921.

I think this maker mark (MM) was being used well into the 1920's (at least). Here is my Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire which was sealed in 1924 with said mark. This would be the latest sealed badge that I have with this MM.

I dion't know the marks but the Bent & Parker archives revealed that they considered S&W to be serious rivals concerning WO tenders during the 1st WW

I’ve a couple Smith and Wright marked South Irish Horse badges. Can post pictures if anyone is interested. Be good if we could compile a list of badges from that maker. The Bed and Herts is fantastic, thanks for sharing.
