Looks like someone liked it! Is that a good price for this badge? I really don't know...... I haven't bought a Royal Irish Regiment cap badge for some considerable time now.

Think you’re lucky to get a pre 1922 Irish infantry badge for under £30 these days.
Dealers often charge more for badges with named sliders as some are willing to pay a premium. That in mind I’d say the buyer did pretty well and got it cheaper than you would off any dealer. |

Time moves on and sadly, stops for nobody, I dare say that is okay these days, I have not bothered looking at these badges for an awful long time.

Sadly, I moved on from collecting the basic Infantry cap badges many years ago and I cannot ever remember actually dreaming about them, but, they are certainly nice things.

Forgot to add photograph, a very well worn example I bought as a child, I wish it could talk!

A fellow member put me on to this thread, I found this Northumberland Fusiliers Smith & Wright example, not in my collection unfortunately.
Fits nicely into this thread I think, another one for me to get hold of though!! Cheers Chris |

If it helps the thread in showing more examples of this mm - here is another, this time on a hairpin slider.
