Lancer17
Hi Guys
Anybody down under know Phil (Lancer17) - he had not been active here since 13th May which is a bit unusual but he is also not responding to emails and I am getting ‘mail not delivered as email account is full’ messages. Hopefully he is ok but it is unusual for him not to reply to emails. Cheers Mike |

Oh my goodness, I am so shocked as had not seen this. Thank you for letting me know Luke. We have corresponded regularly since 2012 and I have lost a good friend. RIP Lancer 17.

I am sorry Mike. He was a valued and regular contributor to this forum for many years and will be much missed by many.
Perhaps you may like to make a suggestion in this thread as to how we can commemorate members who have passed away and also make this sensitively apparent when viewing their profile page or posts on the forum. https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...415#post552415 No rush or pressure of course, I appreciate you’ve had a big shock tonight. |

Hi Mike,
Losing Phil was a very great loss to us all. The sad news was posted under the Australian section as noted by Luke https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ad.php?t=85289 and so you may not look there to have seen it. To Luke's point a commemorative section of their name and date they joined the Forum with a symbol of their passing would help us all remember their contribution to the Forum and the friendships we richly shared. Best regards Dean

What a shock! I just sent Phil some items last May 12! I don't know if he even saw them. A sad loss indeed.

Really sad news.
I had a couple of badge swaps with Phil, and ended up back and forth having a wonderful chat via email. Sent me photos of his Great Great Uncle, who was a 17th Lancer, who survived the charge of the Light Brigade. Also pictures of the two military museums he was part of in Australia. A lovely chap who I'd loved to have met. Rest in peace. Chris |
