Default WWI PPCLI Marguerite

Hi Guys

Would like comments on this WWI PPCLI Marguerite Cap badge.

Is it original and WWI vintage?

Surfed the net to find info on these and fond out that there was a recent reunion badge - a pin back, and also a reproduction in Brass. Unfortunately the pictures for the reproduction in Brass are no longer up on the net.

Is this one a good WWI period Cap badge and if so what is the approximate market price for one of these?

any help and all comments welcome.

thanks

Al R

The badge looks okay. The marguerite pattern was worn into the 1920's, so it is hard to say if it is First WW.

Hi Bill

thanks for looking and the comments. It my understanding that all ranks wore the same style badge until approx. 1917/1918.

Hi Al, actually, the same pattern was worn into the 1920's. Some gilt/silver badges may have been purchased, but the officer's pattern was not authorized until 1922.
