Well after all those views I thought that you should have at least one answer, even if it is negative. Sorry I can not help you.

Please forgive my ignorance but what is the difference between a G Squadron beret and all the others?.

Default G squadron beret

Hi Ben , G squadron berets were issued for a very short time as far as my knowledge goes , there are very few original ones out there and yes it does have the guards flash behind the beret badge .
I have had two come my way but we’re very good fakes .
It’s very hard to tell as it’s only the flash that’s different . Generally you can tell with the ageing and the stitching around the guards flash .
I’m sure others may disagree but it’s hard to compare as these are so rare to find .i have the same problem with an original L detachment white beret that was purchased in a flea market in Egypt back in the 70s . The liner is removed but there is a almost carpet like material left around the head band in areas .
Anyway wish you the best of luck in finding one .
