Default West Riding Regiment Elephants?

After some assistance with what appears to be a matched pair of collar badges in the form of elephants.

Having searched the Web they appear to be of a similar pattern to those of The West Riding Regiment however the two holes present obviously held another device or number.

The reverse fixings are single metal prongs or spikes and each badge measures approximately 30 mm at its widest point.

Could anyone tell me if these are good and give me a positive identification and let me know what is missing please?

(as always, will be offered for sale if it falls outside my collecting field)

Regards Simon.

Fairly modern Duke of Wellington's Regiment officers collar badges. Originally gilt with a silver "Howdah" attached to the Elephant (that's what is missing from where the hole is.

Tim,

Many thanks for showing those, I note there are some differences in the details, particularly the ears, would that just be down to different Manufacturers using a different die or stamping process do you think?

Regards Simon.

Simon,
This pair were new in packet of issue and probably 1990s+ production. If they have clutch pin fittings (unable to check at present) then a new die may have been used.

Duke of Wellington's Regiment - JSP768 Description: Badge, Organisation, Collar. Duke of Wellingtons Regiment. Officers: Gilding metal. Gilt and silver-plated finish. No 2, 3 and 4 dress. NSN 8455-99-130-3705 Pattern No 30205
