Hi all, just a quick introductory message. My name is Kev and I'm from Cardiff, I recently had the good fortune to inherit my grandfathers military cap badge collection and I'm looking to learn a bit about them. I hope to ultimately add to his (doesn't feel like mine just yet) collection and learn all I can along the way.

My Grandfather spent the past thirty or so years trying to teach me all he could about militaria however I am very much a novice.

Look forward to interacting with you all!

Best wishes
Kev

Kev,
welcome to the forum. Nice to find somebody who's carrying on a family tradition of badge collecting. I'm based just across the water in Bristol. Will you be at Yate arms fair in a couple of weeks? PM me if you want to arrange a meet (I get to Cardiff every couple of months hunting for badges/beer)

Hi Kev,

Welcome to the forum.

You need to get yourself along to the Cardiff Militaria Society meetings. Last Monday of every month at the Earl Haig Legion Club in Whitchurch at 7.30 p.m.

Cofion gorau,

Kevin

Thanks to all for making me welcome!

I'm still trying to catalogue everything that I have so early days yet and hadn't given any thought to attending any fairs or meetings. Funnily enough though Kevin, my grandfather lived in Whitchurch and up until a few years ago would frequent "The Legion" in Whitchurch Village, small world hey!

Re. my current job of finding out exactly what I have; I hope you are all up for some giving me some identification help! Going to start photographing the badges I'm unsure of soon so will start posting in the relevant thread. Keep your eyes peeled and thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give me.

Best wishes
Kev
