Default Possibly Foot Guards

This came with various Foot Guards items but I have tried in vain to identify it. I hope someone can help. Kerr

Kerr,

A lovely badge but a mystery to me, and I collect that stuff

The Royal Arms of a WO and the 3 Chevrons of an NCO shouldnt be together and the colours confuse me too.

The reincarnation of the Garrison RSM with the Large Royal Arms on 4 chevrons is the nearest comparison but it only ever had a QVC and a QC (until King Charles's Coronation at least).

If its ever for sale drop me a PM.

regards

Me neither and the construction of the chevrons and materials used would, imho, suggest this is not Guards related.

Simon.

Should the lettering on the badge actually look like lettering?

I think the badge in question is a fantasy item, probably made to be worn either with fancy dress of as a fashion accessory. However, as a matter of interest, attached are two pics of rank chevrons worn by Apprentice Tradesman CSM and RSM certainly during the 50's and 60's, maybe even earlier and maybe into the 70's. I think the design and construction changed about that time, and the lower arm cloth badges were introduced.

Similar badges are produced/sold by a London company that held an ERII royal warrant.
