Default Beaufort whistle

Hi all
I just picked up this crossbelt type whistle in brass, possibly once gilt as it has some bright patches. I know they were worn in silver and WM, but did any regiments have GM or gilt fittings like this?
Thanks, cheers,
Alex

Not that i can think of Alex ,basically its a Rifles/Light Infantry thing. So silver coloured and blackened .
Theres a few different shapes and sizes of whistles ,some extremely ornate.

Hi Mike
Thanks. Yes, it is odd. I have one cross belt in my collection and this fits nicely in the conical holder and has the securing clip, so must have had a similar origin.
Cheers,
Alex

An example of the current Rifles cross belt furniture worn by Warrant Officers.

Queens Gurkha Engineers have Gilt cross belt fittings, but that on looks to predate their formation.

Thanks everyone. I can't tell age but I am fairly sure it was once gilded as there seems to be shiny bits in the corners of the stepped edges.
Cheers,
Alex
