8674 was Assistant Forewoman Elizabeth Goode. She served in France from 10th November 1917 until 7th July 1919. No other information available I'm afraid. It is my understanding that Forewoman and Assistant Forewoman were the equivalent of NCO ranks (the former being on a par with a Sgt and the latter a Corporal) Paul |

None of the three numbers mentioned, G15216, 7781 or G12265 come up searching with the number alone, either with or without the G.

The 1918 WRAF service records are on FMP so if you can let me know your aunt's name I might be able to find hers.

Four candidates came up when I searched for Kate Johnson.
Kitty Johnson 4677 Annie Kathleen 21120 Queenie Kathleen 8779 K Johnson 25304. Being the most likely. It is a discharge certificate that they show. She enlisted at Doncaster on the 16th October 1917 and was employed as a Mess Orderly at the Officers Cadet School, Manston?. No home address is given. She was discharged on the 1st October 1919. Her description was listed as: age 20. Height 5'- 2', Slight build, Eyes: Brown, Hair: Brown. Last edited by High Wood; 04-03-24 at 09:16 PM. |

May I please ask if you would see if the one in my collection can be identified. The number is either G17841 or G17341. With my old eyesight I can't be sure. I tried to take a picture, but it isn't very sharp, but hoping someone can make it out.
