To me that is a very lovely badge which has definitely been worn instead of sitting on the QM shelf. Thanks for sharing!

Further to the above, this is a Chief Section Leaders badge, equivalent to CPO. The PO's wore square rig.

Steve

Just to add the front and back of my badge, since the back is not shown on my album page. The Label is to GEO KENNING & SON / LITTLE BRITAIN /LONDON, E.C. / Embroiderers Goldsmiths – Masonic Depot.

My badge came from ebay Canada

I have just come back on this one, This is in fact a Chief Section Leaders badge.
The chiefs did not obtain the laurel leaves to the crown until 1922 when the POs then wore the badge originally worn by the CPOs. This did not apply to the WRNS since they were disbanded on 01 October 1919 not to be reformed until 1939.

Section Leaders wore the POs badge and Square rig (Sailors rig).

Always worth looking on ebay Canada and America. WRNS Officer's cap badge purchased from America (at a snip since the seller did not realize he had a valuable item until it was too late)
