Interesting to note the construction of these flashes. The St. Albans Museum example appears to be a white stripe sewn onto a green rectangle. I assume many such flashes would have been produced in the field?

Jonathan’s example looks to be factory-made and of superior quality.

Jonathan’s example appears to be Regimental ribbon, which almost all regiments obtained for various uses, including hat bands on officers’ Panama hats! The example on the FSH is typical of those made up by regimental and/or bazaar tailors.
