1940 Wolfville Womens Volunteer Corps
Here is a nice photo of the Wolfville Womens Volunteer Corps in 1940. It has a couple of good views of the W.V.C. Nova Scotia shoulder flash on the dress style uniform and a wedge cap with badge being held by the middle lady standing.

Great photo Gary, thanks for posting! The shorter lady in the back row, near center, is clutching a cap which appears to have a badge affixed to the left side. Do you have any idea as to what the badge looks like? Cheers,

Walt,
I believe it to be a Women's Volunteer Reserve Corps cap badge as I can make out the maple leaf and beaver when I zoom in. I'll zoom and crop the badge when I get into work tomorrow so others may judge. I noticed that the rank stars are of the same design, the sort of star burst pattern, as those used by the WVRC. Gary |

Have you ever come across a shoulder title for the group?

No. When we received the photograph a few weeks ago we also got the uniform dress but the epaulets had been cut off and no flashes. I would assume that because it is a "generic" Nova Scotia flash that it would have been used across the province, not just in Wolfville, and someone would have one in their collection somewhere.

Hi Gary, Do you have examples of the WVC Nova Scotia flashes? If so, any chance of an image?

Bill, no shoulder flash. I was hoping someone here (read you) would have one. Here is a close up of the hat and badge.

Hi Gary, I was not aware the WVC Nova Scotia titles existed. Another rare title on the want list.
I am not aware of anyone having one of these in their collection.

Thanks for the close up of the badge Gary. I agree with you that it appears to be that of the Canadian Beavers.
