Default 15 Fd Support Sqn RE

Chaps, a recent interesting find.
The 3 badges I believe configured as shown. C/S '77' of Op Talisman (counter IED system) used in Afghanistan by 15 Fd Support Sqn, 38 Engr Regt RE.

Not seen another, shown purely for interests sake.

Regards all

Bess

The current title of this unit is 15 Fd Sqn (EOD&S) and is located at Carver Barracks, Essex, part of 36 Engineer Regiment (Search),

Its previous title was 15 Field Squadron (Search) and was located at Claro Barracks, Ripon before it was disbanded in 2013.

On Op HERRICK 12 - May 2010 to October 2010, 15 Field Support Squadron was the first Royal Engineer squadron to deploy to Afghanistan with the new Talisman counter-IED system

Very nice indeed, and have to say the patches are an unusual set of colors. Looks like sort of a violet and mauve on my PC.

I was on Herrick in 2011 and 2013 and the Afghan flags were generally worn on the front of the body armour when working with Afghan Army. The other 2 are shirt badges. There was some variance in what was worn and it changed from tour to tour.

Many units did not wear any patches at all. I only had the issued UJ and para wings and nothing else for both tours where as others had the ISAF circle patch on their body armour and regimental formation badges on their arms.

Bess, sorry to be a pain but can you show another picture please, so that I can establish the colour(s) of the S/T & patch.
Thanks

Jerry, slightly better pics for you - this is the configuration as removed from shirt/jacket.

All the best

Just FYI, but these pictures do come in different coloring from the first pictures on my PC. Happy to see this.

Thanks Bess, certainly a different "shade" to the first picture.
I have a spare S/T so now just need to find the other 2 patches.
