Default ID needed for weird Irish(?) wing/badge

Hello All,

This badge/wing was in a big bag of misc UK police buttons & insignia. Any idea?

I cant find much on Ryanair insignia, but what is visible online seems quite different, especially the Harp design.

Just an update on this odd one... we have eliminated Aer Lingus, Irish Int'l and Aer Turas. The commercial air experts feel the badge is too early for Ryanair. Could it possibly be military/police/paramilitary?

Possibly linked to the attached in the image or flight training schools etc.
Or possibly the Guinness Harp hit the Red Bull ?

Could be an early version of their badge , they were formed in 1939.

That looks spot on, guys! I’ll reach out to them about the badge, seems bizarre that they’d have a uniform, but stranger things have happened...

I wonder if their logo and badge has a historical connection to the noted Irish aviatrix Lady Mary Heath ?

She set up her own airline , Dublin Air Ferries (1935-1938) and also founded the Junior Irish Aviation Club "where some of the original Aer Lingus personell got their first taste of flying".

Can't find any info on if DAF or JIAC had uniforms but it is a possibility and their badge could have been used as the basis of the MACI logo/badge ?

I may be way off !

Interesting hypothesis... am chasing that line of inquiry. Meanwhile here’s a view of the badge from the reverse...

Default Badge Identity

Hi,

I think this badge is Related to Shannon Airport, I think I had the same badge before and an ashtray with a similar design on it.

Thanks Gary
