Lots of guys in the Burma police units were Sikhs/Punjabis/ Punjabi Mussalmans..some one took it back home on the NWF probably

Could it have found its way to Afghanistan during the 3rd Anglo-Afghan war of 1919?

Getting back to the original post ! There was a Salween Battalion in the Burma Military Police and also a Shwebo Battalion one of which may well be the most likely explanation of the "SB". Both Battalions I believe were disbanded or absorbed into other Battalions in the 1920's.
