L&BH cloth shoulder title backing material colour
These L&BH shoulder titles have a white backing material. Can someone confirm this is found on genuine titles, I only have titles with a black backing on file.
PS disregard the Lowland patches on the blouse |

If you look very closely you can see they have an off white backing, which in turn has what looks like thin black paper applied to it. Off course, it does help if you have it in your hands

Hi gentlemen,
this blouse is 100% genuine. At the end of the war, 2LBH became the reconnaissance troop of 52 (Lowland) Division, "LOTHIANS & BORDER HORSE" titles were worn with the div badges. My friend Frank Gent, 4 troop, B Sqn, 2LBH, was one of them. I enclose a picture of his blouse. Luc, the one your present here is the second I have the chance to see. Is there any name on your jacket? Luc, can you send me a picture of the brass collar badges please? Best regards, Phil Last edited by 2LBH; 06-03-14 at 07:43 PM. |

BTW, the Lothians backing color is often referred to as "French grey". From 1939 onwards, it is wrong. The right color is "Light blue", the difference between WWI and WW2 is significant. Except for the different names (Yeomanry / Horse), the lettering and background is exactly the same for both Lothians regiments during WWII.
