Default A few Guards related questions

Hello all

I just have a few Guards related questions for the learned members of this Forum.

Firstly, the khaki cloth badge that some members of the Welsh Guards wear on their berets, is that a issued item or is it a PRI item?

Secondly, How difficult is it to get current issue Scots Guards Pipers cap stars? I have seen plenty of older ones for sale but none of the current issue.

Last question, which is sort of Guards related, does anyone know where I can buy the cap star worn by G Coy of the London Regiment? Or are they still very new issue and not out and about in the collectors market?

Any answers most gratefully received as always.

Kind regards

Ron

There is a recently curated display of London Regiment material at the Guards Museum, London. It includes some G Company badges but apparently the coloured new metal version of the cap star is still in the process of manufacture. A one piece cloth embroidered version on a blue red blue rectangular backing is worn on the khaki beret.

For information on Scots Guards Pipers see https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ighlight=Piper

Hello Tim

Many thanks for the info, especially the link to the Scots Guards pipers badges. The reason I am asking is that I have nearly finished a collection of current issue Guards badges.

I would like include both Scots and Irish Guards pipers badges , but am just finding out how easy they are to get before deciding.

Many thanks once again

Ron

Here is a link on the Welsh Guards beret badge https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ighlight=Welsh
See post 6. Unfortunately it is not clear on PRI/purchase but seems was issued or awarded.

Thanks for the link Tim

I found another thread about the Welsh Guards cloth badge and it does seem to indicate that it is an issued item.

Thanks once again
