Republic of India patches?

Can anyone identify these four Indian patches, which I assume are post 1947, please?

Second from the left is for the Assam Rifles. They are paramilitary.

First from the right is worn by staff on the Assistant Instructor's Basic Course, which is run by the Army Institute of Physical Training.

Thank you for the two identifications, L1A1. Can you tell me whether the AIBC one was worn by either Instructors or Students on the course, or awarded to students after the course. Any further info would be useful so that I can put it in the right category.

Sorry, I've just read the info you gave on AIBC patch and see that it was worn by Staff so that answers the question I asked but didn't need to!!

The Indian Army's 10 Para Commando [Special Forces] are known as the 'Desert Scorpions', which may or may not have a connection to the badge on the far left.

I think you may be correct. I googled Para Commando, Indian Army, and after trawling through a lot of photos, I came across one of a soldier with a red beret, standing in front of a sign on a wall behind him showing a gold scorpion on red. He wears a cloth badge on his right arm which is very indistinct but could be something in black on red, rather than gold on a pale background.

Perhaps the blue[?] background patch is an earlier version? Not quite the same stance and the red certainly fits better with the red Para berets. I didn't look long enough to find and example.

I agree that it isn't the same stance as my badge when I compared the two more closely, but it was the only scorpion badge picture I can find. Perhaps it is for something else. The background on my patch is a pale bluey lilac.
