Black Watch help needed
I recently bought this badge of the Black Watch, when I received it, I was surprised how small it was. According to Bloomer this type with the "42" was worn by Sgts, now the Black Watch have always had changes in the spelling of "Lacessit" and somewhere in the dim distant past I have seen a reference to a small Black Watch badge.
I have shown it next to my normal size Black Watch for a comparison, loops N-S. What do forum members think? All help appreciated. Rob |

Rob,
The north/south lugs suggests a sporran badge, that would be my guess. Peter

Black Watch
Peter,
I had not thought of this being a sporran badge, but yes, you could have hit the nail on the head. An interesting piece. Many thanks Rob |

Sporran badge
Peter,
Having had a look online at other sites the Black Watch had St Andrew as a sporran badge, as this is the same as a Sgt's badge, could it be worn by senior NCO's? Rob |

Rob,
Possibly, the Highland Cyclist battalion I am sure had a small sporran badge of this size and design, so you could well be right. Hopefully other members may be able to give their thoughts. Peter
