Default Royal Artillery collar period

Hi

I think that this is Royal Artillery rather that RE. Can it be attributed to a particular period please or was this with for a long period of time? I've done some research on this but not getting definately answers. There seems to be an officers pattern which was worn ww1?

Many thanks
