Default GMGR Shoulder Title

Hi
Has anyone got any Info on this Shoulder Title Please?
I take it GMGR stands for Grenadier Machine Gun Regiment, but cannot find any mention of their Titles. It is Gilded.
Plenty on Cap Badges.
Many thanks in advance

I would suggest it is Guards Machine Gun Regiment, not Grenadier. Someone with more gen will come along soon I expect.

I have had one of these for 20-25 years but have yet to see evidence of this title being used. I doubt it is a period made title. See post 37- https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...egiment&page=3 I think GMGR titles were cloth. Regards, Paul.

Sorry, meant to put Guards not Grenadier.
Paul, Is the one you have a known Repro??
I know the fakers are good but this one really does seem to have some age??
Then again, I can find no evidence either of it being worn.
Many Thanks

Personally I think its a fake due to the lack of evidence to support it. I've noticed 3-5 in the time I've had it, so its not common. I'm not any kind of expert though. I don't think anyone has ever stated on the forum that it is a good period badge. Regards, Paul.
PS my title is shown in post 37 of this thread on The Great War Forum. https://www.greatwarforum.org/topic/...omment-1570348

I agree with you Paul.
When I sell it, I will state I believe it not be original.
As a retired Antiques Dealer, I hate people trying to pass off fakes/forgeries as genuine.
Many thanks once again.
